Hetzner is the German hoster that sells the cheapest bulk byte in Europe, and the machine our public wiki farm already runs on. Three of its products matter to Anarchive Hosting: the Storage Box, the Cloud VPS line, and the Server Auction.
## Storage Box
Bulk network storage from €3.20 a month for 1 TB (BX11) to €20.80 for 10 TB (BX31), plus VAT. Access by SFTP, rsync, WebDAV, Samba or SSHFS. No setup fee, no minimum term, billed hourly with a monthly cap.
It is backup-grade storage, not a public web server — connection counts are limited. Serve its files through a VPS with Caddy caching in front, as sketched in Self Host the Farm.
## Cloud VPS
The CX line starts at €5.49–6.99 a month after the June 2026 price adjustment, with 20 TB of traffic included in EU regions. That included traffic makes egress a non-issue for self-served media at our scale. The cost-optimised CX and CAX tiers are EU-only; US customers land on the pricier CPX line.
A single entry-level CX instance comfortably runs an entire federated wiki farm — hundreds of sites — plus Caddy.
## Server Auction
Refurbished dedicated servers with decreasing prices and no setup fee. Machines in the 2×8 TB class pass through at roughly €26–40 a month. This is One Big Auction Box: real disks, a whole machine, and room for an IPFS node beside the wiki.
