Wiki Publishing Process

The concept of "publishing" in wiki is interesting. Currently wiki enables a unique mode of publishing which we can call Semi-private. You write for yourself, and do not wish or expect others to notice, while not objecting, or perhaps secretly hoping that others may at some time in the future notice - see writing with strangers.

This may not always stay the same (should we introduce an effective global wiki search for instance), and we should do out best to ensure that we support and defend this aspect of wiki through the tools and protocols we create.

# Publishing

So when we have finished a particularly good wiki page, or polished a collection of pages and gathered them into a site - we may like to publish this site.

To publish a site is to archive it permanently and showcase the content in a standards based way that allows us to market it, and syndicate it to various platforms.

This act of publishing, is a different class of wiki content. We may classify wiki content into the following: - private writing - semi-private - published content
